CAMIO AI on display at IMTS 2026!
CAMIO AI, an applied AI assistant designed to help metrology teams work more confidently and efficiently inside CAMIO, will be on display at the upcoming IMTS 2026. The AI tool brings practical guidance into the inspection-programming workflow, helping users understand CAMIO and DMIS, work with approved knowledge sources, and follow repeatable procedures without leaving the application.
CAMIO AI is built for the everyday realities of quality and inspection work. Metrology teams often need to interpret complex DMIS programs, resolve unfamiliar programming issues, work from internal procedures and standards, and apply established measurement practices consistently. The AI tool helps turn those tasks into guided, reviewable workflows.

This image demonstrates the problem solving capabilities of CAMIO AI and the ability for it to understand and dissect the program. The AI tool consumes the program to understand all the features, settings, tolerances, alignments, etc. It can then diagnose issues or answer any questions related to the program.
Inside CAMIO, users can ask for explanations of programs and commands, receive help with DMIS and inspection concepts, search configured knowledge sources, and use focused skills for repeatable tasks. When an interaction proposes a program change, CAMIO AI stages the result in a DMIS Workbench so the user can review the change before it is sent back to CAMIO.

This image demonstrates CAMIO AI’s ability to interpret an image and determine the reason that this error message is appearing based upon the open program. In this example, a CAMIO error message box was given to AI tool to decipher. The error message was related to an item not being allowed in a measure block. Not only did CAMIO AI extract the text from the image, but it also used its knowledge of the DMIS language to find a command that was not allowed to be inside of a measurement block.
The AI tool can be configured with cloud or local AI models, helping organizations choose an approach that fits their security, connectivity, and data-handling needs. Its knowledge and skill capabilities are intended to help teams preserve proven practices, support less-experienced users, and create a more consistent path from a question to a reviewed action.
LK Metrology will continue to develop CAMIO AI as part of its broader commitment to practical metrology software and connected quality workflows. The initial focus is straightforward: make CAMIO easier to learn, easier to use, easier to support, and more effective for the people responsible for inspection results.
“CAMIO AI is an applied AI assistant for metrology teams that helps manufacturers turn complex inspection, DMIS, CMM, and standards work into guided, repeatable workflows while keeping humans in control of final decisions.”
John Foreman, Application Engineer, LK Metrology
