Product Manufacturing Information

CAMIO 2023 has significantly improved support for Product Manufacturing Information (PMI).Automated programming using PMI.PMI data import.PMI data visualization.PMI data management.By associating GD&T controls to geometric entities within the CAD file, PMI provides a seamless link from design intent to upstream quality control processes.Using PMI is now the most efficient method of programming an inspection sequence in CAMIO.

Visualisation of PMI

PMI is displayed using GD&T annotations in the Model View, along with the CAD model.PMI is also displayed as Collections in the Model Explorer. Collections have hierarchical parent layers with geometric bodies and entities as sub-layers.Captures: subset of PMI items and camera view.Views: view of PMI in a specified plane.Semantic: PMI with relevant information.Graphical: PMI with graphical information.Items selected in the Model View are highlight in the Dependency View and vice versa.

Automated Programming

CAMIO automatically analyses PMI data and generates features, datums and tolerances, which it displays in the Dependency View.Tolerances applied to a group of features are organised into Callouts, which can be used for automated programming.When PMI is dragged from the Dependency View to the Program View, the following program lines for the inspection sequence are automatically generated.Measure inspected features.Measure datum features.Define tolerances and datum frames.Evaluate tolerances, including features required to evaluate material condition.Optional probe safety moves.

CAD Interface

A new CAD interface dramatically improves file import performance and provides additional file handling capabilities.Import of PMI Semantic data and Graphical data.Direct loading of all CAD file formats without pre-import translation.Concurrent import of CAD data using multi-threading to leverage PC performance.Advanced CAD import and export file handling options.

SLK25 Laser Scanner

Support for the SLK25 CMM laser scanner:CAD programming and Teach & LearnFull visualisation and simulation.Point cloud filters and data management.Feature analysis and tolerance reporting.Multiple exposure laser scanner profiles.Multi-sensor automated tool change.The new SLK25 is a high accuracy, high productivity CMM laser scanner for precision parts with complex geometry and small detail.

Clearance Planes

Probe safety moves using Clearance Planes are added automatically before and after each measurement, with the option to supress individual moves if not requiredClearance Planes avoid probe-to-part collisions by providing a safe passage for the probe when moving from one measurement to the next.

Linear Slice

Linear Slices of the CAD model for programming touch points or scan paths.The CAD model is sliced along a vector at regular intervals from a central position. Three strategies are available to generate the measurements:

  • Touches Per Slice
  • Total Touches
  • Tactile Scan

 

Radial Slice

Radial slices of the CAD for programming touch points or scan paths. The CAD model is sliced at angular intervals from a central position. Three strategies are available to generate the measurements

  • Touches Per Clice
  • Total Touches
  • Tactile Scan

 

Tolerance Modifiers

Additional datum modifiers can be applied to profile and position tolerances when using either the ISO or ASME standards. 

GD&T Algorithm

Automatic selection of the appropriate feature fitting algorithm for geometric tolerances according to the ASME standard. For example, when the position on an inner cylinder is evaluated, a maximum inscribed cylinder algorithm will be used. Likewise, for an outer cylinder, a minimum circumscribed cylinder will be used.

Slot Tolerancing

New tolerancing methods for evaluating a Slot feature. Slot Position using a square tolerance zone. Slot Width using a pair of parallel planes. Slot Length using a pair of perpendicular planes.

Surface Filter

Standard Deviation elimination filters, for removing outlier points from datasets, now supports freeform Surface features.

XML Output

Support for user-defined custom XML output has been enhanced with additional features: -Additional output. Variables. Reference blocks. Filters. Attributes. Global comments. Conditional tags. 

Save / recall Program Settings

DMIS PUSH and POP commands have been implemented to enable the save and recall of program settings. Feature fit algorithms. Speed settings. Datums. Decimals places.
