Manual gauges have USB, Bluetooth serial and any other output source that can be interfaced with an SDK

In this case Metrology Gate will be connected to the instruments by a dedicated client that interfaces the instruments

Once the nominal template has been defined and selected in the client, the inspection results will go to Metrology Gate automatically without any user interaction.

Manual gauges are traditional tools, where the only possible way to read and report is the User that, traditionally, reports the measured value manually in a report

In this case Metrology Gate will be connected to the instruments by a dedicated client that shows a table where the User can type the measured values

Once the nominal template has been defined and selected in the client, the inspection results will go to Metrology Gate.

One of the major challenges in production inspection on manual gauges is the training of the Users and the reliability of the measuring process

Being manuals instruments there is no guarantee that the User knows exactly the procedural steps to measure and, quite often, any missing information can lead to a wrong measurement

The outcome of RollOver is a “Power Point” style slide show that guides the User step by step along the measurement process

A series of templates is available, the programmer selects one and fills the template with some of the following fields:

• Title of the task
• Description of the task
• Connection to a specific device
• Measured result coming from the device
• Open space to insert measurement when the manual gauge has to connection to PC
• Media

Once the procedure is prepared the RollOver presentation will be placed on the measuring station and from that moment on the measuring task will be clearly detailed and available and the data can be collected and sent to Metrology Gate complete of:

• User Details
• Part Number
• Part Type
• Shift details
• Custom programmable details
